A low price is only a deal if the thing is right for you and actually arrives. Here is the quick routine we use ourselves before buying anything, online or off.
1. Decide what "good" looks like first
Write down the two or three things the product must do before you look at prices. A smart scale that syncs to your phone, say, or a heater small enough for a desk. Anything that does not meet those is not a bargain at any price.
2. Ignore the "was" price
Crossed-out prices are often made up. Compare the price you would actually pay today against two or three other stores instead. At Fast Deal Shopping we simply show one price, so there is nothing to decode.
3. Add up the real total
- Shipping, and the threshold for free shipping
- Sales tax for your state
- Any subscription that renews after the first year
- Return shipping if it doesn't work out
Quick math: two items at $22 each cost less in total than one $40 item plus $6 shipping. Our free shipping starts at $45, so bundling small buys often pays.
4. Check the return window
Thirty days is a fair standard for physical goods. Digital codes and gift cards usually can't be returned once delivered, so double-check the details before you buy.
5. Stack one code, then stop
A single good promo code is worth using. Spending twenty minutes hunting for a better one rarely is. Use FAST10 for 10% off everything except gift cards, and get on with your day.
